6. Merdeka square (Independence square) 

Located right in front of beautiful Kuala Lumpur landmark – Sultan Abdul Samad building. The independence of Malaysia from the crown was declared here by lowering down the Union flag and hoisting the Malaysian flag on the 31st of August 1957. In certain days the traffic is excluded and the place is full of kids with skateboards or just sitting on the grass and enjoying the day. Not far from here is Masjid Jamek – one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur located on the confluence of Gombak river and Klang river.

5. Kuala Lumpur Tower (KL Tower or KL Menara)

Admire the whole city of Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings from this 7th tallest free standing tower in the world (421 meter tall). Buy a souvenir or two on the observation deck and enjoy 5D cinema near the entrance to the tower.

2.Batu caves

Some of the things to do in Kuala Lumpur are off the track and you have to travel a little to get to them. Don’t miss these amazing caves which serve as hindu temples. Climb 272 steps to the cave and admire colorful temples. There’s a huge gold statue of god Murugan in front of the caves. Be careful, the monkeys are rude and hungry (but rather don’t feed them) 🙂

1. Petronas Twin Towers

This iconic 451,9 m tall building was designed by argentinian architect Césare Pelli. Petronas Twin Towers were the tallest buildings in the world until 2004. Make sure you reserve tickets to Petronas Twin Towers in advance via internet. Be aware that on Mondays twin towers are closed. There are many thing to do in Kuala Lumpur City Centre where Petronas Twin Towers are located.
