The name is meant to read like the signature at the end of a letter: with love, we. It is a reminder of how we want to arrive anywhere: with affection, but also with the manners of a guest.

Our mission is simple: to help people travel with more attention and more care. We combine practical information with honest observation, and we put residents, local businesses and fragile landscapes at the centre of how we write.

Our values are the ones set out in How to Write to a Place: attention over ownership, honesty about the hard parts, spending where it matters, and leaving room for ordinary life.

Lists ask which place is best. Letters ask what a place is like, and who it belongs to. The format lets each piece have its own voice and rhythm, while a shared structure (what we love, what we'd tell a friend, handle with care, before you go) keeps every letter useful.

We write about places with something specific to say: a city with a strong everyday rhythm, a small town under visitor pressure, a landscape that demands preparation. Reader suggestions play a part too, through the form on our home page.

We distinguish between three kinds of content. Verified facts (how to reach a place, what an official body says) are checked against official sources and linked. Editorial observations are our considered views, based on research. Personal experiences are only described as such when they genuinely happened; we never invent visits, interviews, quotations or local contributors.

Every letter shows the month it was written. Spotted something out of date? Send us a correction. We avoid exact prices and timetables, and we correct mistakes when readers point them out. You can submit a correction at any time.

We do not accept payment for recommendations, and we do not sell tours, flights or accommodation. If that ever changes, we will say so clearly on the page concerned.

Letters are written and signed collectively as The WTWL Team. We don't publish individual biographies at present, so that each letter is judged on its care and accuracy rather than on credentials.

Apart from clearly labelled affiliate links, we have no commercial partnerships at present. Tourism boards, local organisations and independent businesses can write to us; any future partnership would be disclosed clearly.
